Kara Forney
A successful entrepreneur and executive leader, Kara has been in the motherhood business for some time. Inspired by her own pregnancy experiences, in 2005 she became a dot com founder, creating TheBump.com for expectant moms and growing the company to become the go-to resource for all things pregnancy and new motherhood. The Bump.com was acquired by The Knot, Inc. (The Knot Worldwide), and post-transition Kara exited to become a sought-after consultant to start-ups and growth stage companies as a mentor, advisor, and board member. In 2022, a desire to shed light on the experience of raising boys in today’s world led Kara to create and publish Boy Moms: Collective Tales of Mothers and Sons. The book is a collection of essays by moms from all points of view, sharing their personal stories about the joys, challenges, and overall significance of the modern mother-son journey. Noticing a lack of solutions for a frequently communicated “Boy Mom“ pain point, Kara and her team launched Good Guygiene in 2023 to help moms navigate the often choppy waters of tween and teen boy hygiene. Most importantly, Kara is the mother of two amazing young adults who delight and inspire her daily. She lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband Greg and a revolving door of college kids on the regular.
