Advent calendars were a tradition in my home growing up. It was something I looked forward to every year, even when I became a teen. Opening those cute little doors in the cardboard holiday scene and getting a cheap piece of chocolate was a highlight of my mornings each day before school for all of December and helped me get into the festive spirit.
