15 of the Best Movies on Netflix for Teen Boys Pin

Inside: Trying to find a movie that both you and your teen son can actually enjoy together? It can be hard to find common viewing ground but these popular movies for teen boys on Netflix may be just what you need.

Okay, we understand, all movies are for all people regardless of gender. However, numerous comments on this post 28 Fun and Heartwarming Modern Teen Movies on Netflix, came from moms asking if maybe couldn’t we please suggest a few more movies that might be a little more “teen boy” friendly. We felt it couldn’t hurt to give a few more suggestions that were outside the Teen YA Rom Com genre that seems to kind of dominate the streaming services at the moment.

Not every teen boy is super excited to watch romance movies (and honestly, neither is every teen girl). So, if you’re looking for a movie to watch for family movie night and you want to move beyond some of the relationship and general drama fare that gets much of the attention today. Here is a list of very diverse movies that can appeal to a wider audience of teens.

For moms of teen boys, these might be a little bit more in line with what you were asking us to help you find. And as a mom of a teen boy myself, I can say we’ve watched quite a few of these and I’ve enjoyed them equally as much as him. There is some action going on, along with animation, sci-fi, animals, sports, and comedy. No doubt, there has to be something here that will appeal to just about any teen movie watcher.

Home Team

Sean Payton has the dubious honor of being the first modern NFL football coach to be suspended for an entire season. During his downtime, he apparently took over coaching his son’s football team. This comedy sports film starring Kevin James is based on the true story of his life’s events. It’s hysterical and warm and a great quick watch.

See You Yesterday

Two teenage science prodigies spend every spare minute working on their latest homemade invention: backpacks that enable time travel. When one of their older brothers is killed, they put their unfinished project to the test to save him. This is a socially relevant film that tackles some important issues in a new, exciting way.

Concrete Cowboy
