As a mom of teens myself, I know what it’s like to try to navigate these years. You seem to be busier than ever, yet you also aren’t spending as much time with your kids as they pull themselves away. They are making plans for their future, while you are trying to figure out what the next phase of your life will look like.
We can all agree that moms (and motherly figures) deserve the literal world, but these Mother’s Day gifts come a close second (if you are a mom reading this, send this list to your kids!)
What moms of teens really want doesn’t cost a thing
When my teens ask me what I want for Mother’s Day, the answer is simple: spend some time with me. Do something (anything) with me. Take a walk, watch a movie, bake cookies, go for coffee, sit on the couch with me. It doesn’t matter, but I just want to feel close to to my kids. I also wouldn’t mind the following:
- Leaving our chargers plugged in where we left them.
- Returning our silverware, cups, and plates to the kitchen (bonus if you put the dirty ones in the dishwasher)
- Let us see your bedroom floor
- No eye rolls or gigantic sighs for the entire day.
- Get along and be kind to your siblings
- Take a selfie of the two of us and send it to me
- Put your phone down for a few hours without me asking.
- A long hug. We need it more than you know.

I love when my teens take me for a cup of coffee. A close second is this gift set of teas from around the world from Atlas Tea. Each month, discover tea from a new country with notes about flavor and where it’s from. It’s fun and relaxing, and what mom of teen doesn’t need that?
