Adventure books are usually a pretty sure bet for sparking their interest. These books, full of action-packed pages, will take your tween’s imagination for a ride that they won’t want to get off. And hopefully, it will instill a love of reading that will never burn out.

15 Of The Best Adventure Book Series For Tweens
RANGERS APPRENTICE
With over five million copies sold in the United States, and over a thousand five star reviews on Amazon, this series is a sure-fire winner for your pre-teen. It’s similar to Lord of the Rings, and is the perfect hero/villain story. The Rangers are protectors of the kingdom, but will they win the day? You’ll have to read to figure it out!
FIVE KINGDOMS
This series also has a ton of five star reviews on Amazon, and was written by a New York Times Best Selling Author. The fantastic story arcs across different worlds and different scenarios. As a bonus, the main character also struggles with making tough decisions in his personal life. These decisions are comparable to real world choices that our pre-teens struggle with on the daily.
MAGNUS CHASE
After dealing with his mother’s mysterious death, Magnus Chase is living alone on the streets of Boston. Through a series of interesting events, Magnus realizes that he’s actually a Norse God. And thus begins a wild adventure as he tries to find his way. With over 2,000 five star reviews on Amazon, this book is sure to be a hit on your child’s bookcase.
If you’re child loves this series, then you should also try the other Rick Riordan series. My children have read them ALL (and so have I)!
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
The Kane Chronicles
The Heroes of Olympus
The Trials of Apollo
THE LAND OF STORIES
Twins Alex and Conner find themselves in a whole new world, and face to face with childhood fairytale characters. Classic fairytales commingled with their real world life prove to be a wild ride for these young boys. Will they be able to get home? Ask your young reader!
TIME QUINTET
We’ve all fallen in love with A Wrinkle in Time, and it’s included in this awesome boxed set. Madeleine L’Engle wrote five books in total, and your child will fall in love with the characters within these pages. The adventure is new and exciting, and the problems they faces are imaginative and compelling.
THE ZODIAC LEGACY SERIES
This is such an interesting series because it’s based on zodiac signs. Each character has a different zodiac sign (and thus, different strengths), and your reader will be more inclined to identify with these heroines.
